Service Opportunity

Carola Thompson has information on a family in need. Below is the information. If you are able and willing to help please contact her.

Emily Thompson's Brownie Troop is adopting a "Family-in-Need." The Troop met the sweet family on Saturday. The parents are Maria and Noel. Unfortunately Noel got laid off from his job 3 months ago. Maria is the only one currently working, making $1000 per month. They had to move in to a small 1 bedroom garage, where there's no heater (because that's the only place they could afford).

They have to 2 wonderful kids:

- Ashley, 7 years old, is in 2nd grade. She just received her citizenship award from school. She's a little shy at first, but will talk once she feels comfortable. She likes Hello Kitty and Barbies and likes to read. Her shoe size is 13 and clothing size is 7/8.

-Noel, just turned 6 yesterday, an adorable boy, He is very shy, but you can get him talking once you start asking him about his favorite things. He likes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and puzzles. His shoe size is 11 and clothing size is 5/6.

This is what the family needs;
-Kitchen supplies ( plates, utensils, cups, pots and pans)
-blankets
-heater
-slippers
-jackets and/or sweaters
-kids' shoes and socks
-pajamas

What the kids want for Christmas:

Ashley- Barbie dolls, pajamas, books, pillow pet (Unicorn), and a lunch box.

Noel- lunch box, pillow pet (penguin), Ninja Turtles action figurines, Transformers, Star Wars toys.

Parents- they both want sweaters
