The purpose of Relief Society is to help prepare women for the blessings of eternal life as they increase faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and His Atonement. To strengthen individuals, families, and homes through ordinances and covenants. To work in unity to help those in need.

This blog was created for the Woodland Hills Ward Relief Society sisters. It's purpose is to share information, unite and help each sister grow closer to Jesus Christ. This is not an official site of the LDS Church, and the opinions and statements are not representative of the church as a whole.

Emergency Prep Club

Last week we discussed different places and things to get for your food storage. With the little research I have done I found that Honeyville Farms has a lot of options and for the best prices. Here is a link to their website http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/

If you look at the left column under Link & Information you can see their entire product and price list.

Their only locations are in Utah and 1 in Rancho Cucamonga. I go out to Rancho Cucamonga 3-4 a month to visit my parents. If you have a product you would like to try please feel free to contact me (Lisa Bell) and I would be happy to pick it up for you when I am out there.

Munch N' Mingle

Wednesday, November 2 - 6:30pm Come enjoy good food and company. If you can, please bring a dish to share, but if time doesn't allow we'd love to have you there anyway! Always a good time. Hope to see you there!

Pet Sitting

If anyone in the ward needs pet sitting you may contact Sister Vandoros. She would be willing to go to your home and take care of your pet (since animals do better in a familiar environment) or if you have a small cat or dog she would be willing to take it in. She does not charge a fee but does as for a donation that would be comparable in price. If you are interested or have more questions please feel free to contact Sister Vandoros.

Goal for Emergency Prep

For those of you who could not make the Emergency Prep Club, I wanted to share what our goal is for the month.

Goal - To keep at least 1/2 of tank of gas in your car at all times.

Purpose - In case of an emergency and you need to leave quickly, the gas pumps might be down due to no electricity, too long of lines, or gas pumps could run out of gas. A recent example of this was when the power went down all over San Diego earlier this month. Many people were stranded at work (or wherever they happen to be) for the entire night because all the gas pumps were down.
